FAQ's
Please read these frequently asked questions before you book.
1. What happens when I make a reservation?
Once you complete your Rio Airport Transfer booking, the details of the booking are sent electronically to the supplier who will make the appropriate arrangements as per your request.
2. What does the price include?
A one-way price will include a single journey, either from your arrival airport, to your accommodation or from your accommodation to your departure airport. A round trip booking includes both the arrival and departure transfer from airport to accommodation upon arrival and from accommodation to airport on departure. Unless stated otherwise, individual vehicles will accommodate up to four passengers.
3. Do infants count?
Most vehicles can carry up to 4 passengers as stated above. For private transfers infants and children do count as one person. We strongly recommend parents take their own child seats to ensure adequate safety and to comply with local legislation. As with car rental policy it is also the parents responsibility to fit the seat. Most airlines do not charge for the carriage of child seats and pushchairs. We do not always have the facility to provide infant or child seats in our vehicles.
4. How do I collect my transfer upon arrival?
Details of how to collect your transfer will appear on your booking voucher, which is generated automatically and is emailed to you once you complete your booking.
6. Transfer times?
The times quoted are the standard journey times on a normal day. These times may alter slightly in high season when there is more traffic or road works affect the direct route of the journey.
7. What happens if flight is delayed?
We have desks located at the airport and you can simply show your voucher at one of the desks and the staff member will escort you to your vehicle.
8. How much luggage can I take?
Most transfer vehicles are able to accommodate a suitcase and piece of hand luggage per person. (Up to 4 passengers per vehicle, children and babies count). If you are traveling with excess luggage for example pushchairs, wheelchairs, golf clubs, surfboards or any other out of the ordinary items, it is imperative we are made aware as extra charges maybe applicable. Failure to do so may result in additional charges incurred by the passengers locally.
9. Do I need to tip the driver?
The price paid does not include a tip. As is standard across the globe these days if you feel your driver has been friendly and courteous, then a small tip is the norm.
10. What happens if my holiday details change prior to departure?
If your details change prior to departure simply log into our website using the login details provided and amend the details accordingly.
11. What happens if I cancel my holiday?
You may cancel your booking at any time and cancellation charges may apply. Our cancellation policy can be found on the terms and conditions section of the website.
12. Insurance?
Rio Airport Transfer holds full public liability insurance as do all of suppliers. However it is a condition of booking with us that you hold a valid insurance policy for the duration of your trip.
13. Our Representatives?
Representatives are on hand at the airport. Individual contact details advising how to locate our representatives will be printed on your booking voucher.
14. Last minute bookings?
Our website will allow you to book your chosen transfer up to 8 hours prior to arriving in Rio de Janeiro.
15. What is your policy on drunken/abusive behaviour?
Rio Airport Transfer reserves the right to refuse to carry any person who is thought to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs and/or whose behaviour is considered to be abusive and could pose a threat to the driver or the vehicle.
16. What is your smoking policy?
